This Dark Magic - for Charity

If you follow Joe Konrath’s blog posts as pathologically as I do, you know he recently hit the top 100 on Amazon Kindle with his eBook Origin. You also know he offered to pony up $500 to First Book, an awesome charity, if he hit the top 100. I'm doing the same. If my shortie novella, This Dark Magic, hits the Amazon top 100, I will donate $500 to First Book. As a side note, I have been a ridiculously insatiable reader my entire life so without the Scholastic Book programs in school, I probably would have bankrupted my parents. A child’s access to books is about as important as it gets. About This Dark Magic and about First Book:

FIRST BOOK

First Book’s mission is to provide access to new books to children in need. They reach programs that serve kids from low-income neighborhoods, no matter what sort of program they might be: schools, classrooms, libraries, tutoring programs, shelters, food banks or church groups. THIS DARK MAGIC - the blurb
by Chryse Wymer

Charlie Landers is a reporter for the Capital City Gazette when his hometown turns deadly. It begins with a blackout, and escalates to a crime rate so high that it’s a miracle that anybody has lived to tell about it. Finally, he must do something when not only his life but the life of a loved one is threatened. In this quirky dark fantasy story, Charlie Landers must navigate a dangerous world of black magic in order to save his little corner of the universe.

This Dark Magic is approximately 9,840 words. That runs about four or five somewhat long chapters when comparing it to most modern novels. It is available on Amazon Kindle or Amazon Kindle for PC for 99 cents here: This Dark Magic
